Anime Midwest 2015 Review

Anime Midwest 2015 Review

Anime Midwest 2015 took place during July 3rd – July 5th. Unfortunately due to previous engagements with family and with another organization, I was only able to make it to Anime Midwest on Friday. Despite this, I still do have things to say about Anime Midwest. This review is going to look a bit different than normal reviews since I was unable to get to some parts of the con, I’m going to focus on other aspects instead. Anywho, lets get this review stared. Location While the 4th of July usually affiliated with parades and BBQs, this year it was also affiliated with Anime Midwest. Going on its 5th year, Anime…

Anime Central 2015 Review

Anime Central 2015 Review

Anime Central 2015 May of 2015 marked Anime Power Level’s 3rd consecutive year of covering Chicago’s own Anime Central and once again the feeling of sadness filled our hearts as it came to an end. The Midwest holds many great conventions, but there are few are as revered and beloved as ACen. This year was simply amazing, with a fantastic line up of guests such as SCANDAL (the hit Japanese pop-rock band) a great line of of voice actors (Cristina Vee, Amanda Miller and Richard Epcar) and not to mention the panels, raves, burlesques show and the Anime Central Prom. A line of up of events and guests like this…

Anime Milwaukee 2015 Review

Anime Milwaukee 2015 Review

Editor’s Note: Anime Milwaukee was a one man show this year for Anime Power Level as most of the members of Anime Power Level were unavailable to make it to this year’s convention. While I will do my best to give a respectable review, I was unable to get to all parts of the convention (still needing that TARDIS). So, with that being said, lets start this review: In my opinion, I think that Anime Milwaukee is a convention that might even rival some of the larger cons in the Midwest. It continues to have many great things going for it, but still has some minor problems that keep it…

Anime Central Review 2014

Anime Central 2014 Con blues, who hasn’t experienced that feeling of sadness after your favorite convention of the year has come and gone? 2014 was an amazing year for Anime Central as a milestone was reached by surpassing last year’s attendee number by another 1K new attendees bringing the grand total for this year to more than 29K people. For good reasons too as Anime Central brought a phenomenal foreign guest list which featured the great composer Nobou Uematsu, fun and high energy concerts from The Wake Up Girls, and our personal favorite Angela. This year’s convention was well organized, ran smoothly, and was filled with panels, raves, events and…

Anime Milwaukee Review 2013

Anime Milwaukee What a great start to open up the convention season with Wisconsin’s Anime Milwaukee, hosted in the Milwaukee Hyatt Regency Hotel and the Frontier Airlines Center. This was conveniently connected by skywalk, making it easier for attendees to walk to and from the two buildings. AMKE made us feel very welcomed when we we’re given a tour of the con showcasing some of their new features and their convention layout. This year was especially memorable for AMKE attendees, respected video game composer Nobou Uematsu was able stop by the convention and do a meet and greet with his fans. Highlights from this year include Dead State Pavilion hosting the video…
